Online Giving
You can make a gift to ongoing operations or toward the endowment of the Foundation. Your gift can be directed to a specific program or added to the general fund, as you see fit using the Make a Gift form.

Types of Gifts
We invite you to tailor your giving as you see fit by selecting one of several options.
Unrestricted gifts – allow the Foundation to allocate funds wherever the need is greatest, and to take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise. Your unrestricted gift will be used to support costs associated with the Alpha Achievers, the High Achievers, Annual Scholarships, Leader Development training, and much more.
Restricted gifts – can be targeted to specific programs such as Scholarships, or the Alpha Achievers. When you make a restricted gift to the Foundation, you enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting a program that is personally meaningful to you.
Endowment gifts – You also have the option of designating your gift specifically for the Foundation endowment. Building the endowment is part of the Foundation’s long-term strategy to move towards complete self-sufficiency as time marches forward.

AFHC Ways to Give

​Mail – gifts can be mailed directly to the Foundation at PO Box 2694 Columbia, MD 21045. Gifts can be of cash, or personal checks, company checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders made payable to Alpha Foundation of Howard County. You can specify that your gift is restricted/unrestricted or for the general fund/endowment.

Paypal – Donations may be made virtually via Paypal. When making such a gift, indicate in the Comment space provided how you want the money applied.

Endowment – Gifts intended only for the endowment can also be made by check or money order payable to The Community Foundation of Howard County. In the Memo section of your check or money order, simply specify that the gift is for the Alpha Foundation of Howard County.
The AFHC has also partnered with the Community Foundation of Howard County to accept gifts through the United Way. You can designate the Community Foundation of Howard County as the nonprofit to which your United Way payroll deductions are to be directed. The Community Foundation of Howard County’s United Way designation code is 7180. You may then designate your contribution specifically for the AFHC. For further information call Beverly J. Matching Gift Programs
An easy way to double or even triple your contribution to the AFHC is to use your company’s matching gift program. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees’ personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching gift form from your employer’s personnel office, fill it out, and provide it to AFHC with your contribution.
